About Me

I am a 29 year old male living in Mason, Michigan. I graduated with honors from East Lansing High School and later graduated from Lansing Community College with an Associate of Business with a major in computer programming. After receiving my degree, I searched for a job in my field while working temp jobs.  During my time working temporary jobs, my mother (who was a Young Fives teacher in East Lansing Public Schools) suggested I try substitute teaching. I fell in love with the job immediately!  I taught in several elementary schools with all ages, but quickly discovered I had a passion for working with the youngest students in the Great Start Readiness Program (children ages 3 and 4 years old).  From my time working there, I have received letters of recommendation from the teachers of those programs (see below).  See my other qualifications here.

My Vision

After discovering my passion for working with young children, my goal became to open an in-home daycare where young children can learn and grow in nature without screens. I live on 8 acres of forest and will ensure the students spend as much time as possible outside.  I will also focus on developing social-emotional and self-care skills, language, motor, and cognitive abilities through nature-based play.

What You Can Expect

This program will be a full-day, Monday-Friday program for children ages 1-5 with a focus on screen free, outdoor play.  Breakfast and fresh-made lunch as well as periodic snacks will be provided daily.  Please see the page "What We Do" for more specific information.
